"Silence is very loud," my doctor told me, "it carries heavy meaning in conversations. It signals something's going on in the world. It's awestriking in a dance club or concert hall. Many people can't even sleep when the silence gets so loud. You know?"
I nodded in agreement. "Sure."
She smiled in acknowledgement and continued, "Well, I think I've come up with something that's even louder than silence."
"Is it sound?" I asked.
"Oh heck," she said in dismay, "looks like someone else thought of it first."
