Eugene Chien, aka The Buzz, was our lead singer. I'm sure you know the story: Eugene was orphaned at age 2 and raised by magical taking serpents from various creation myths.
Buzz has a distinctly hypnotic tone to his voice. The inflection was inherently interesting, no matter what he said. He could keep a crowd rapt, lost in his voice as he talked about the weather. Sadly, his music didn't have the same quality. He had a pretty good singing voice, mind you, but not as freakishly engaging as his spoken voice.
After The Folks I Miss broke up, Buzz started a career of being interviewed. He became famous for being a celebrity. He did talk shows and "Where are they now?" specials. Other bands would invite him to sit in on their interviews, because he was just so interesting. He would talk about going to the store to get ingredients for cabbage soup, and somehow, the TV audience really, really cared.
Finding the Buzz won't be hard, of course. Getting time with him, though, will be harder; he's got a star-studded date card and a huge ego these days. Persuading him to leave behind his lucrative ex-musician career will be even tougher. Staying focused on something while talking with him? Nearly impossible.
Any advice, people?
